The double roller granulator is one of the key equipments in the compound fertilizer industry. Its high efficiency, low energy consumption, high granulation rate, long life, and easy operation and maintenance make it a popular choice in the fertilizer production process.
The Structure of Double Roller Granulator
Frame: The frame provides the structural support for the entire machine, ensuring stability during operation. It is welded with carbon steel plates and channel steel, stable structure, strong and durable.
Rollers: The double roller granulator features two parallel rollers that rotate in opposite directions. These rollers are typically made of high-quality materials such as stainless steel or carbon steel and are precisely engineered to withstand the pressure required for granulation.
Crushing Chamber: The material flows into the crushing chamber on the lower side after being squeezed by the roller.
Drive System: The drive system provides the power needed to rotate the rollers. The electric motor to drive the pulley, V-belt and reducer to transmit power to the rollers efficiently.
Control Panel: It allows operators to adjust parameters such as roller speed, feed rate, and gap size, ensuring optimal performance and consistency in granule production.
Working Principle of Double Roller Granulator
The double roller granulator utilizes two rollers to roll in opposite directions to extrude the raw materials to form high-density particles. The size and shape of the granules can be controlled by adjusting the gap between the rollers and the speed of rotation.
Feeding: Feed raw materials, typically powdered or crystalline substances such as urea, ammonium chloride, or potassium chloride, into the granulation chamber.
Compression and Granulation: As the rollers rotate in opposite directions, they compress the raw materials between them. The pressure exerted by the rollers compacts the materials and forms them into dense, cylindrical shapes. As the material passes through the narrow gap between the rollers, it also experiences shearing forces that help to shape and form the granules.
Discharging: Once the granulation process is complete, the granulated material is discharged through the outlet for further processing or packaging.
