Mesh Belt Dryer
The melt belt dryer is the drying equipment that can realize continuous drying with low temperature and hot air, used across various industries to efficiently remove moisture from a wide range of materials. Mesh belt dryer offers several advantages, including continuous operation, uniform drying, low-temperature drying, customized parameters, energy efficiency. They can be used to dry materials such as charcoal, food products, agricultural crops, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, wood, biomass and more. The belt dryer provides a reliable and efficient solution for moisture removal, ensuring product quality, stability, and usability.
The mesh belt dryer can achieve uniform and efficient drying at relatively low temperatures. This is especially beneficial for heat-sensitive materials such as various charcoals, as it helps prevent the drying process from being too hot and causing the product to reach the ignition point to be degrade or damaged. The mesh belt dryer plays a crucial role in the charcoal production process by ensuring that the briquettes reach the desired moisture content, improving product quality.
The Structure of Mesh Belt Dryer
Conveyor Belt: It consists of a perforated stainless steel belt or mesh that moves continuously through the drying chamber. The material to be dried is spread evenly onto the belt.
Drying Chamber: The drying chamber provides the space where the drying process occurs. It is designed to allow the passage of hot air through the material on the belt while containing the heat and ensuring uniform drying.
Heat Source: A heat source provides the hot air needed for drying. This could be a gas burner, electric heater, or any other heat generation system. The hot air is forced into the drying chamber and passed over the material on the conveyor belt.
Air Circulation System: An air circulation system ensures even distribution of hot air throughout the drying chamber. This include fans or blowers that circulate the air and maintain consistent drying conditions.
Exhaust System: An exhaust system removes moisture-laden air from the drying chamber, helping to maintain optimal drying conditions and prevent the accumulation of moisture.
Control System: A control system regulates various parameters such as temperature, belt speed, and airflow to optimize the drying process and ensure the desired level of moisture removal.
Working Principle of Mesh Belt Dryer
Loading: Raw material is spread evenly onto the conveyor belt as it enters the drying chamber.
Heating: The heat source generates hot air, which is then forced into the drying chamber.
Drying: The belt drawn by the driving device moves inside the drying chamber. As the conveyor belt moves through the drying chamber, the hot air passes through the material, causing moisture to evaporate. The perforated belt allows the moisture-laden air to escape, part of them will be exhausted by exhausting fan, while the material continues to move through the drying chamber, gradually losing moisture.
Cooling and Discharge: Once the dried material reaches the end of the conveyor belt, it pass through a cooling zone to lower its temperature before being discharged from the dryer.
By controlling parameters such as temperature, airflow, and belt speed, a belt dryer can achieve efficient and uniform drying of material while operating at relatively low temperatures, suitable for the sensitive materials like charcoal that can not be dried at high temperatures.
Raw Materials

Various charcoal including:
Wood Charcoal: Produced from wood materials such as hardwood, softwood, or coconut shells.
Coal Charcoal: Coal charcoal, also known as bituminous coal or mineral charcoal, is produced by carbonizing coal.
Charcoal Briquettes: These are compressed charcoal products typically made from a mixture of charcoal fines, binders, and additives.
Bio charcoal: Produced from biomass materials through pyrolysis.
Bamboo Charcoal
Activated Charcoal
Regardless of the type of charcoal, the belt dryer can efficiently remove moisture from the product:
Food Products: Fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood, nuts, herbs and spices.
Agricultural Products: Grains, seeds, crops, hay and forage.
Biomass: Such as wood chips, sawdust, and agricultural residues.
Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals
Textiles and Fibers
Mining and Minerals: Such as iron ore, copper, and gold.
Pulp and Paper Products
Ceramics: Greenware and pottery materials.
Features of Mesh Belt Dryer
- 1. Continuous Operation: Mesh belt dryer can operate continuously, allowing for a consistent and uninterrupted drying process. This continuous operation enables high throughput and efficiency in production.
- 2. Uniform Drying: The design ensures uniform airflow distribution and material exposure to heat, resulting in consistent drying of the entire product load.
- 3. Low Temperature Drying: Mesh belt dryer can achieve efficient drying at relatively low temperatures compared to other drying methods. This is particularly advantageous for heat-sensitive materials like charcoal, as it helps prevent degradation or damage to the product while still achieving desired moisture removal.
- 4. Gentle Handling: The conveyor belt gently moves the material like charcoal through the drying chamber, minimizing breakage or damage to the charcoal pieces. This is particularly important for fragile or brittle materials.
- 5. Customized Design: Mesh belt can be customized to suit specific drying requirements, including belt width, length, and drying chamber configuration. This flexibility allows for adaptation to different product sizes, shapes, and production capacities.
- 6. Energy Efficiency: Mesh belt dryer is designed to maximize energy efficiency by optimizing heat transfer and airflow within the drying chamber, helping reduce energy consumption and operating costs associated with drying processes.
- 7. Reduce Labor: Automated operation and continuous processing minimize the need for manual intervention, reducing labor requirements and improving overall operational efficiency.
- 8. Controlled Drying Parameters: Mesh belt dryer features advanced control systems that allow precise regulation of drying parameters such as temperature, airflow, and belt speed. This enables operators to achieve optimal drying conditions and ensures consistent product quality.
- 9. Versatile: Mesh belt can be used for drying a wide range of materials besides charcoal, including food products, agricultural crops, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.
Application of Belt Dryer
Charcoal Drying: Mesh belt dryer is commonly used to dry charcoal efficiently and effectively. Charcoal is a porous material that can retain moisture, and proper drying is essential to ensure its quality, stability, and usability. Uniform drying, low temperature capabilities, and minimizing breakage or damage to the charcoal pieces. This is particularly important for fragile or brittle charcoal products, ensuring high-quality. Whether for industrial-scale charcoal production or smaller-scale operations, belt dryer provides an efficient and reliable solution for moisture removal from charcoal.
